G.R.A.P.E.s – Maturity
There are very few Christians in the world today that have grown beyond babyhood. In fact, the Apostle Paul wrote to the Church at Corinth:
“But for right now, friends, I’m completely frustrated by your unspiritual dealings with each other and with God. You’re acting like infants in relation to Christ, capable of nothing much more than nursing at the breast. Well, then, I’ll nurse you since you don’t seem capable of anything more. As long as you grab for what makes you feel good or makes you look important, are you really much different than a babe at the breast, content only when everything’s going your way?” (MSG Translation)
This is an unfortunate situation because there is only one fruit that babies produce and whether it is solid or runny it stinks like yesterday’s diapers. Whether you are a baby Christian or your exterior shows you to have been one for a long time, maturity is not that far off if you will be a doer of the Word.
